Motivation to Get Fit

“Get Motivated, Get Active, Get Fit!”

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to stick to a lifestyle change when you do it with a friend? A friend sticks by your side and brings motivation, accountability and cheers of enthusiasm.

When you get fit with a friend, you have someone who shares your victories. You can both celebrate and be proud of your accomplishments.

Stop waiting for that perfect day to make some changes and join forces with a friend. Make the commitment to one another that you will stick together through thick to thin.

Eating well, being active and feeling good about yourself are essential to feeling healthy, alert and alive. You already know this. So why not start now?

Don’t Let Another Wasted Day Slip By

“Step aside world, here I come.”

The world will step aside for a woman with clearly defined objectives and a strong desire to attain them.

No matter what your plan is to launch yourself toward success, the time to start is now. Not tomorrow, not next week or next month – now!

Don’t waste another day waiting for all the right conditions. There will never be a perfect time to get started. The important thing is to take that first step and get started immediately!

Proceed with determination and don’t let fear, doubt or others stop you. Your path will become clear as you move forward.

Today’s Affirmation: I am moving forward with conviction. I’m fearless!

Price You Pay for Holding on to Hate

“Hate is an invisible chain.”

When you don’t let go of hate, you let the thing or person you hate maintain control over you. You allow the hatred to keep the channels of negative energy open, sucking out positive emotions and holding you back from true happiness.

Cut off the hate and move on! When you cleanse your mind and soul of grudges and negative thoughts, you make new room for positive emotions and joy. Take a moment today to consciously let go of all hatred. Savor the new energy that you’ll feel bursting through to take its place!

Today’s Affirmation: I have let go of all hatred.

Your Ticket to Success

“The power of your imagination can make things happen.”

Imagine this! You’re faced with a giant obstacle and you turn it into a personal triumph. Everything turns out beautifully. How do you feel? The emotion that accompanies conquest is hard to beat! So, what made it happen?

Events tend to play out in reality the way they play out in our minds. The exact details of the situation may vary, but the end result will be just what you imagined.

Next time you find yourself in a situation where you really need to succeed, describe to yourself the details of the outcome you want. Don’t cloud your thinking with what you don’t want to happen. Focus solely on what you do want to happen.

Revisit the outcome in your mind as often as you can, and your imagination will guide you to success.

Today’s Affirmation: My thoughts are focused on what I want to happen.

Make Your Life Worth Living

“Take time to be grateful.”

Taking the time every day to recognize what you’re grateful for helps keep things in perspective. Gratitude carries you through the tough times, and gives you the strength to surpass the stress of challenges.

Reflect on your family, your friends or the place where you live, and the satisfaction they bring you. Think about your good health and your mental or physical talents. Consider the pleasure you received from a phone call with a friend or a laugh you shared with your children.

Look back on small and large moments – the affection of a pet, your success in the garden or a deep and fulfilling partnership. These are all things that nourish gratitude. And, gratitude makes life worth living!

Today’s Affirmation: Each day I reflect on what I am grateful for.

Super Charge your energy at work

Super Charge Your Energy at Work: 10 Ways

1. Start Your Day With a Workout

You would think a big workout would make you tired, but actually getting that blood pumping first thing will keep you going for the day. Don’t forget a good breakfast as well, solid fuel to stoke the day’s fire.
2. Take a 20-minute Power Nap

Of course you don’t want your colleagues to see you sleeping on the job, but studies have shown that a brief power nap can help revitalize you for the whole day. One employer I know actually set up a motorized massage chair in a designated “nap room” for employees and requires they use it for breaks. Check out Inc. columnist Jessica Stillman’s power nap primer.
3. Remove All Personal Grudges

All that emotional baggage takes its toll day in and day out. Whether it’s anger you feel for a coworker or even someone who is distant from work, the emotions can be distracting and absorb energy. We like to think we can ignore the feelings, but often we just mask them and that takes energy in and of itself. Make a list of your grudges and commit time to reconcile each of them until they are gone. Soon you’ll feel like someone added minutes to your clock every day.
4. Take a 15-minute Humor Break

Laughter is a natural energizer. Those endorphins from chuckles are as good for you as a solid workout. Sign up for the joke of the day, or cruise YouTube for some funny videos. Grab some colleagues and have a joke pow-wow. You’ll lighten the atmosphere all around, and help everyone feel good about the rest of the day. This is a good one for 2:30 in the afternoon when the classic after lunch doze is coming on.
5. Take a 15-minute Walk

Sometimes we just need to get out. It doesn’t matter if the weather is hot, cold or rainy, getting up from that chair and computer can rejuvenate your body and your mind. Leave the smartphone behind as well. Stretch, breathe and take in the outdoors to feel refreshed and awake.
6. Read Something Fun During Lunch

A little escape is good to clear the mind and reset your energy. Short stories are my favorite for lunch breaks. Not only are they entertaining, but finishing one at lunch gives you a sense of completion which helps boost your confidence to get back and fight through the day. Try a classic like Mark Twain or Rudyard Kipling, and you’ll feel like you are doing something worthwhile with your time.
7. Resolve Any Conflicts With Your Boss or Colleagues

Concern over conflict can eat away at your attention and tire you quickly. Don’t hold back. Confront issues head on. If you are open, empathetic, and diplomatic in your approach you may forge a closer bond that will make coming days easier to enjoy.
8. Do Something Nice For a Colleague

Energy is easily transmitted from person to person. This tip helps on so many levels. It’s energizing to think about someone else, the actual act of giving creates a natural high, and of course gratitude provides plenty of energy as well. Try this hat-trick every day for a week and feel the surprising buzz.
9. Call a Good Friend and Chat for 15 Minutes

Nothing perks up my day more than time with a close friend. Whether it’s quick catch up, or a chance to vent some of the day’s frustrations, this short, fun reconnect will recharge your batteries and give you the support required to battle any tough day. The best part is that you will give your friend the same benefit.
10. Make Sure Your Work Activity is Fulfilling

If you hate what you do then none of my suggestions and no amount of caffeine will energize you enough to grind out depressing workdays continuously. Find a way to get paid doing what you enjoy. No need to make yourself and everyone around you miserable. Life is short and you are entitled to enjoy every day of it.

Why Settle for Less?

“Believe in yourself and set your standards high.”

Next time you’re tempted to settle for something less than ideal – a man, a job, a home, a friend’s behavior… perhaps even a pair of shoes – stop!

You’re a woman of many talents and inner strengths. Your gifts enhance life and nurture so many. You deserve and are worthy of far more than second best. So, why accept less?

Never settle! Be discerning. Be demanding. Instead of lowering your standards, wait for the quality you deserve. The wait will be worth it.

Today’s Affirmation: I believe in myself and hold high standards.

Let Go of Destructive Relationships

“A strong self-image requires a strong support system.”

While each of us is responsible for our own self-image, it’s important to have support, encouragement and inspiration from those we value.

Nothing erodes your self-image more quickly than unhealthy or destructive relationships. Seek out those who only want the best for you. Spend time with friends who cheer you on to reach your potential.

Nurture friendships that are positive and uplifting. Look for friends that listen attentively, that believe in you and encourage you. Your self-image will grow stronger until you can reach any goal!

Today’s Affirmation: I spend my time with people that have my best interest at heart.

Simple Indulgence You Deserve

“You deserve to be pampered.”

To pamper yourself you don’t have to take the whole day off, you can simply integrate small moments of pampering into your everyday life.

Sometimes you just need a break, to catch your breath and restore your natural rhythms.

Pampering is not a forbidden pleasure but a necessity. Think of it as something you need to do, for “You.”

Go ahead. Indulge!

Today’s Affirmation: I pamper myself because I deserve it.
