How many times have you heard yourself say things like, “I will be happy when he tells me he loves me,” “Once he commits to me I will be happy,” “I will be happy once he…” and so on. You get the picture!
Too often, we attach our happiness to the choices of others. When we put demands like this on our relationships, we give our power away. This is self-defeating.
Happiness is what you make it and it’s within your control. You don’t need a relationship to define it. And, in the end, this is what really attracts and maintains healthier relationships.
So, remember, your attitude is your foundation. When you’re content within yourself, fulfillment follows.
