2013 in review

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2013 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

The concert hall at the Sydney Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 31,000 times in 2013. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 11 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

End Daily Struggles

“Relax and enjoy life’s journey.”

Every day you’re bombarded with an ever-increasing number of opportunities, yet you don’t seem to have enough time to get things done. If that isn’t enough, you believe you’re not working quickly enough to keep up with the nonstop flow of information streaming out of your computer. Worse yet, you feel as if you’ll be left in the dust if you don’t keep up.

The truth is, there will never be enough time to get everything done, so, don’t kill yourself trying.

You can face overwhelming challenges, yet still make each day purposeful, by keeping in mind a clear intention of what you want to do. Resolve to stay focused on accomplishing important tasks. Be willing to say “No” when you are asked to add responsibilities that are not in harmony with your aspirations.

Life is not meant to be a struggle but a balanced and joyful journey.

When Your Dreams Don’t Live Up To Your Expectations

“Success is a meaningful lifestyle, not just a business.”

How many people do you know that have aggressively achieved their dreams yet they never feel complete?

What happened?

They have sacrificed their health, relationships and personal needs for success, without knowing what’s most important to them.

There’s a lesson here for every one of us. Before you can be truly successful, your core values and beliefs must be aligned with your efforts. In other words, your heart must lead your labors. Without this, true fulfillment will never come your way.

Are you hiding behind a mask?

“Let the world know the real you.”

Have you ever noticed how children love to dress up? They love the thrill of pretending to be a princess or a butterfly. What about you? Do you still play make-believe? Do people see you for who you are, or do they see something different?

Often, we make the choice, allowing only a select few (family or friends) to see the “real” us. With everyone else, we put on a mask so they see what we want them to see (especially if our self-confidence is low). They may see a happy face that actually hides a ton of pain or insecurities.

I want you to be your best. A good place to start is to acknowledge and embrace the real you. And proudly display it to the world.

Yes, for many it’s hard because we don’t want to get hurt, it’s just easier to put up a front. But living this way, you bury the woman you’ve always wanted to be. You owe it to yourself, your friends, and you family to not keep yourself under wraps. Today, ditch your old self-imposed costume for a new, better version…the real you!

Enter this AMAZING World

“Breaking out of limiting beliefs is like opening a door to another world.”

Beliefs are a set of generalizations you make about yourself, others and your life. They form your version of reality, based on what you feel and perceive about your experiences.

Beliefs help you set rules by which to conduct your life. Guess what? Beliefs are not facts, even though we act on them as if they were facts.

If you believe you are not a good athlete, you’re probably a bad one. If you believe you are horrible at math, then you’re destined to fail your next test. Remember, beliefs either free us or limit us. When we break past limiting beliefs, we enter a whole new world.

So, believe you CAN do it. And … you probably will!

Reach Your Goals and Dreams

“Each new day is a building block for reaching your goals and dreams.”

Personal goals and dreams are not formed over night; they are built with each passing day. It’s important that you do something each day toward fulfilling your personal dreams. Every effort, no matter how small or insignificant, can make a difference.

All those daily “blocks” build on one another and, slowly but surely, add up. Be patient with yourself and never give up. Your tower will slowly grow and, sooner than you think, you’ll be standing at the top!

Do You Underestimate Your Competence and Potential? Why?

“Never underestimate yourself.”

Many people put themselves down, by pointing out their inability’s, inadequacies and weaknesses. They underestimate their capabilities, competence and potential. Unfortunately, this is especially true for women.

Does this ring true with you? Take a closer look at yourself and tune into what you say and do. Vow to never, ever underestimate yourself or limit what you can achieve. You are a woman with huge amounts of talent and skill, screaming to be seen and heard!

Instead of thinking in terms of what you “can’t” do, think in terms of what you “can” do. This will let your talents shine!

Remember, you have the ability. You’re perfectly adequate. You possess limitless potential, because you’re you!
