Tommy Page dies

tommy-page

LOS ANGELES: Tommy Page, the pop star-turned-music executive known for the song “I’ll Be Your Everything,” has died. He was 46.

Page was found dead on Friday, according to Billboard, which reports that although the cause of death was unclear, several friends believe it was an apparent suicide.

Page began his career in the music industry at Sire Records after meeting its founder, Seymour Stein, who helped launched the careers of the Ramones and Madonna.

His performing career started after writing the theme for the 1989 comedy “Shag,” and using the title track to launch his debut, self-titled album. But commercial success did not arrive until his follow-up, “Paintings in My Mind” which featured “I’ll Be Your Everything.” The song, written with and featuring New Kids on the Block, would go on to reach No. 1 on the music charts.

In 1992, Page made an appearance as himself on an episode of “Full House” titled “Crushed” in which he sang to Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) on her 10th birthday.

After releasing several more studio albums, Page became an executive at Warner Bros. Records, and later the publisher of Billboard. After a two-year stint, he served as an exec for Pandora.

Page is survived by his partner, Charlie and their three children.

Several members of the music industry took to social media following the announcement of Page’s death, to mourn his loss, including Josh Groban and songwriter Diane Warren. – Reuters

Price You Pay for Holding on to Hate

“Hate is an invisible chain.”

When you don’t let go of hate, you let the thing or person you hate maintain control over you. You allow the hatred to keep the channels of negative energy open, sucking out positive emotions and holding you back from true happiness.

Cut off the hate and move on! When you cleanse your mind and soul of grudges and negative thoughts, you make new room for positive emotions and joy. Take a moment today to consciously let go of all hatred. Savor the new energy that you’ll feel bursting through to take its place!

Does age really matter?

“Age is something that doesn’t matter – unless you’re a bottle of wine.”

You are only as old as you think you are. If you embrace new opportunities, seek new learning and stay motivated and lively at heart, you can still do anything. In fact, given the wisdom and experience you’ve amassed over the years, you can probably do more today than you’ve ever been able to do before!

Depressed Over Your Bank Balance?

“Your bankbook is not a measure of your abundance.”

Some of the world’s most miserable women have the most impressive bank balances. Despite their monetary net worth, they lack the riches of love and the gifts of joy that others gain from simple pleasures.

Never under estimate the value of all that you have.

Recognize the priceless worth of the love and respect you receive from family and friends – and zealously guard it.

Take note of the wealth of self-esteem you gain from the work you do or the talents you exercise – and preserve it carefully.

Whatever your bankbook may say, you are a woman of substance and abundance!
