Are you in the driver’s seat?

“You’re entitled to a life.”

When was the last time you slowed down enough to consider your own needs? With so many things to do and so many places to be, you probably haven’t thought about yourself, lately.

Taking care of your self does great things for you.  It makes you less irritable, less anxious and more satisfied. With consistent self-care you feel energized, centered, strong and willing. You feel like you are in the driver’s seat of your life, which is precisely where you belong.

When you find yourself jumping to the demands of others, slow down and remember that you are entitled to a life, too, and it’s perfectly okay to say, “No.”

Stop Emotional Fighting

“If your life is a campaign against things, the things you fight will expand.”

Is there is something in your life that you don’t want?

If so, then stop worrying about it and stop talking about it. You may not realize it, but the energy you put into fighting the issue, keeps it alive.  Whenever you agonize over something, you breathe life into it.

Happily, the reverse is also true. Withdraw your energy and focus and the issue shrinks, until it goes away. It’s time to give yourself the relief you deserve.

Decide to truly let go of what you are fighting, emotionally, and watch as it evaporates and no longer robs your spirit.

End Daily Struggles

“Relax and enjoy life’s journey.”

Every day you’re bombarded with an ever-increasing number of opportunities, yet you don’t seem to have enough time to get things done. If that isn’t enough, you believe you’re not working quickly enough to keep up with the nonstop flow of information streaming out of your computer. Worse yet, you feel as if you’ll be left in the dust if you don’t keep up.

The truth is, there will never be enough time to get everything done, so, don’t kill yourself trying.

You can face overwhelming challenges, yet still make each day purposeful, by keeping in mind a clear intention of what you want to do. Resolve to stay focused on accomplishing important tasks. Be willing to say “No” when you are asked to add responsibilities that are not in harmony with your aspirations.

Life is not meant to be a struggle but a balanced and joyful journey.

Do you respect yourself?

“Do you love, respect and trust yourself?”

Can you answer this question with an undeniable, resounding YES? Self-esteem is all about love, respect and trust. It’s based on the confidence and satisfaction you have in yourself. Self-respect is the voice inside that tells you how special you are, that you can become whatever you want, and says it with conviction.

Learning to love the real you unconditionally, just as a mother loves her children, can take time. But you can do it! You’ll know when you have done it, because your self-esteem will soar and you will be more creative, friendly, loving, and outgoing, as a result.

Start loving, respecting and trusting yourself right now, and never stop. You’re worth it!

A Quick Mood Fix

“Inspire yourself! Dress up your space.”

Most likely you have a place where you spend most of your day, either your desk at work or a nook at home. If it’s dull, cluttered or messy, your mood tends to be the same.

Look around. It may just be time to make some changes. Any positive adjustment to your environment will affect the way you feel.

What can you do to spice up your space and make it more pleasing? For starters you could dress up your office or home with a colorful plant, some fragrant flowers or even a photograph of yourself in a special place.

Whatever you do, make sure it brings a smile, both on the outside and the inside.

Cure for Fearing the Unknown

“Stop fearing the unknown and move forward.”

Do these sound familiar? “I’m too old to do something new.” “I won’t be any good at it.” “People will laugh.”  Are these the kinds of things you tell yourself when opportunity strikes?

When you determine the result or the outcome before you even start, you have already considered rejection or failure. And, when this happens, it’s easy to come up with excuses for not even trying.

The secret is to disconnect the outcome from the process. This is when you release the fear and give yourself the opportunity for success.

Think about it, you cannot possibly know the outcome before you try. Nobody can! So, trust yourself and get out there and do it.

Why Self-Acceptance is SO Hard

“Accepting yourself as you are takes courage.”

Who are you? Do you know? Take time to think about your values and goals. What do you believe in? What is important to you?

Decide that you will never compromise your integrity by trying to be or say or feel something that is not true for you. Have the courage to accept yourself as you really are, not as an ideal or as someone else thinks you should be.

Most of all, know that at the end of the day, you are wonderful woman capable of wonderful things.

Why Things Happen

“Finding answers isn’t everything.”

We don’t always know why things happen. Disappointments and difficulties may never be explained. For example, you may never fully understand why management passed you up for a promotion or why a partner left you for someone else. No doubt there will be times in your life when you are left scratching your head trying to figure out, “Why?”

Letting go when there is no understanding that “Why?” is very hard.  Our culture places such emphasis on finding answers. But, finding answers isn’t everything. Your life should not stop when you don’t understand events. Instead, you must learn to let go.

So, get on with your life. Regain your energy and passion. Let go of the frustration of asking “Why?” and you clear the deck for a brighter future!
