Poetry by Lang Leav- Patience

Patience and Love agreed to meet at a set time and place;beneath the twenty-third tree in the olive orchard. Patience arrived promptly and waited. She checked her watch every so often but still, there was no sign of Love.

Was it the twenty-third tree or fifty-sixth? She wondered and decided to check, just in case. As she made her way over to the fifty-sixth tree, Love arrived at twenty-three, where Patience was noticeably absent.

Love waited and waited before deciding he must have the wrong tree and perhaps it was another where they were supposed to meet.

Meanwhile, Patience had arrived at the fifty-sixth, where, Love was still nowhere to be seen.

Both begin to drift aimlessly around the olive orchard, almost meeting but never do.

Finally, Patience, who was feeling lost and resigned, found herself beneath the same tree where she began. She stood there for barely a minute when there was a tap on her shoulder.

It was Love.

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

“Where are you?” she asked. “I have been searching all my life.” “Stop looking for me,” Love replied, “and I will find you.”

Taken from Memories.

Claim What’s Rightfully Yours

“Claim your personal power.”

When you are in touch with your personal power, you’re confident, decisive, focused, purposeful, energetic and empowered.

Sounds great, but truthfully how often do you feel like this? Personal power or lack of it is created by you and you alone. You decrease your power by blaming others or external forces for your misfortunes. Why give up what is rightfully yours?

Claim your personal power today! Try not to blame outside forces for disappointments. Don’t wait for others to change their behavior, instead choose to change your response. Stand strong and refuse to be a victim. You can do it!

Put Relationship Conflict to Rest

“Compromise and collaboration bring harmony.

When harmony is in your life and relationships, peace and serenity are at your fingertips. All your senses are alive. Your visions are clearer, and you can see more, feel more and hear more.

But, harmony has one enemy – conflict.

When conflict arises and threatens to displace harmony, the best thing to do is face it head on. Don’t ignore it. When you do, you allow it to fester.

Instead, recognize that those with differing views are not out to get you, but merely approaching things from a different point of view. Seek to find points of agreement and work together to build compromise.

As you focus on compromise and collaboration, harmony will be restored.

What Your Friends Say About You

“Our friendships mirror ourselves.”

You can’t choose your family, but you can choose your friends. So, how helpful are your friends to self-growth?

Are they supportive, encouraging you to strive and achieve? Do they provide a sanctuary of love and warmth when the world becomes cold and bitter? Do you love them with all your heart and is that love reciprocated?

Or, are your “friends” not really friends at all? Is there a tinge of jealousy when you succeed? In hard times are they unavailable, only to reappear once the crisis is past? Do they spend their time with you talking in negative ways about others?

If your friendship experience is the former, then you are indeed blessed. If it is the latter, now is the time to take stock of the negativity that you are allowing into your life.

Release your relationships with negative, draining people. Choose friends wisely and your life will be filled with love.

Are You Happy?

“Why delay your happiness?”

It’s not unusual for us to postpone our pleasures and happiness, hoping for a better tomorrow.

Do you place demands on your happiness like, “I’ll be happy when I lose 10 pounds,” “I’ll be happy when I get a new job or new car,” “I’ll be happy when I find the love of my life?”

Why put off your happiness until Friday night or Sunday morning or this summer or next winter? The real fun in life is the journey – and enjoying the present moment.

If you find yourself placing demands on your happiness, stop! You have a right to enjoy life, right here, right now! As you do, you’ll be amazed by the joy of daily life.

Are you perfect?

“Perfection is a point of view.”

Are you the kind of woman who would stretch yourself to make EVERYTHING just right? A tad this side or that, and you feel like a horrid failure?

Women want to be the best for their families, their friends, and even for themselves. But does being perfect mean a perfect 10 in everything?

When you focus only on perfection, life becomes a race. The thrill is there at the beginning, but soon you are panting to reach the finish line. You want to excel at work, cook the perfect dish, teach your little ones all the best values, never blow your top, keep your husband smiling, participate in brownie meets, AND host a welcome party for your neighbor. Clearly, this is asking too much.

Perfection is what YOU make of it. Often, in our bid to excel in one thing, we horribly fail at others.

Excel where you can. For the rest, a good effort should suffice. There is no one to compete with or compare yourself to. Remember, you DON’T have to be #1 in EVERY RACE!

Today’s Affirmation:
I have ended the race of perfection.

Build Rock Solid Self-Esteem and Confidence

“Refuse to remain in your comfort zone.”

Your comfort zone feels safe, familiar and relaxing. The problem is, if you’re spending too much time there you may not be growing and evolving as a woman.

It takes a tremendous amount of bravery to do what is unfamiliar and  uncomfortable. The good news is, the payoff is worth it. Your self esteem rises and your self confidence becomes unyielding.

Challenge yourself this week. Put yourself in an uncomfortable situation on purpose. How about volunteering for a project that you would normally shy away from? Strike up a conversation with a stranger or sign up for a class to learn something new.

Whatever step you take, expect to be uncomfortable but know in your heart that you’re doing wonders for your well-being.

Today’s Affirmation:
I am brave.
