Daily Teaching

the-secret

There is a big difference between giving and sacrificing. Giving from a heart that is overflowing feels so good. Sacrificing does not feel good. Don’t confuse the two – they are diametrically opposed. One emits a signal of lack and the other emits a signal of more-than-enough. One feels good and one does not feel good. Sacrifice will eventually lead to resentment. Giving from a full heart is one of the most joyous things you can do, and the law of attraction will grab hold of that signal and flood even more into your life. You can feel the difference. Connect with a full heart everyday.

Simply Inspire Yourself

“Adventure is as near as stepping out your front door…”

Too often we think of adventure as this big event that we have to plan way in advance. We think arrangements must be made, schedules coordinated, flights booked, time off secured, etc. With such planning the “adventure” of the adventure is easily lost.

Adventure is really a decision to do something that inspires awe, from within. It can be simple, uncomplicated and spontaneous.

When you’re out and about, today, try to look at things in a new way. Approach your tasks with a fresh sense of curiosity. See something new, smell something new, touch something new.

Dare to explore and enjoy the experience of living. You will discover that adventure is easily found in an otherwise ordinary day.

How nice are you?

“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.”

We’ve all heard this saying. It’s something our parents reminded us of constantly. In fact, you my very well be cautioning your own children.

Now that you realize how hurtful words can be to others, have you every thought about the effects your own comments have on your self-esteem? Do you ever hear yourself saying nasty things about someone – that someone being you?

No one likes to be called “lazy,” “stupid,” or “fat,” and calling ourselves these names has a damaging effect on our self-worth. So today, take your own advice and the next time you begin to say something bad about yourself, try to stop. Instead of pointing out how little you have accomplished, why not acknowledge what you have achieved? And try replacing words like “I can’t” and “I won’t” with “I can” and “I will.”

Being churlish never served us when we were young, and that is still true. Be kind to yourself.

Sustain Motivation Over the Long Haul

“Do you lack motivation?”

Does it grow tougher to quit smoking, to start that diet, to workout, get projects done or follow through on goals and decisions? If so, it’s time to evaluate your self-motivation.

Motivation through negative self-talk, like, “I am so fat, what’s the point in dieting,” “I have to do this whether I like it or not,” or “I will never be loved until after I reach this goal,” may get you started, but it won’t sustain you in the long run.

Motivation for the long haul comes when you learn to truly appreciate what you have already accomplished and value your previous successes. When you embrace this frame of mind, you’ll find you’re internally motivated to accomplish more. And, that can change motivation into accomplishment!

Let Go of Resentment, Anger & Bitterness

“When you let go of things, they let go of you.”

When you harbor resentment, anger or bitterness, the person you end up harming the most is yourself. Negative emotions have a way of creating negative energy that destroys positive emotions, like generosity, love and joy. Although the unhappy situation may be long gone, you may be allowing it to hold you back by holding onto the feelings it evoked.

Today, vow to start “cleaning out” that inner vault of negativism. Try to forgive those who’ve caused you previous pain, and if you can’t forgive, at least learn to forget.

Break free! Let go! Move forward with optimism. It’s the best way to find happiness.

Today’s Affirmation: I have forgiven those that have caused me pain.

It’s Not a Guilty Pleasure

“Ahhh, soothe, reassure and relax.”

Each woman needs a regime for recharging and relaxing. Ask yourself, “What makes me most comfortable?” “What soothes me?” “What recharges me?”

It can be as simple as a bubble bath or lighting candles. How about a long walk or a phone call to a good friend? Perhaps a nap, a massage or a shopping spree is in your future?

Make a list of your rechargers, relaxers and soothers. Include in your list ones that you can do on short notice like sitting down with a cup of your favorite tea or watching a favorite movie classic. Put your list somewhere where you will see it and be reminded by it.

Next, do something on your list at least once a week. It will clear your mind put things in perspective and ultimately put you in charge of you. And, one last thing don’t feel guilty for taking time for you.

Today’s Affirmation: I do something for myself at least once a week, without guilt.
