You Deserve a Break

“Change your mental environment by curling up with a good book.”

Reading a good book is like taking a mini-vacation. Your attention is absorbed and for a while you forget about everyday challenges.

A good book naturally gives you a moment to relax and forget. It takes you away to another land where your imagination has no limits.

Think of a book that you have been meaning to read and pick it up today. It may be a beloved classic, an old favorite, a biography or something from the bestseller list. Next, pour yourself a cup of your favorite tea, find a comfortable couch, curl up and let it take you away.

Bon Voyage!

Stop Doubting Yourself & Start Living

“Refuse to accept limitations.”

Self-limiting beliefs are based on fears and doubts that hold you back from doing things you want or need to do. These negative thoughts dwell on your lack of ability, limited smarts, inferior looks, or, substandard skills and creativity. In other words, they see your potential as a glass half empty.

When you doubt yourself, you give power to these beliefs. The more you repeat those beliefs in your head the more powerful they become.

One of the most important decisions you can make is to challenge those self-limiting beliefs, to refuse to accept them as the truth. Self-limiting beliefs exist only in your mind. The reality is that you have talent, intelligence and the creativity to do great things.

Believe that as truth, and your life will change forever!

The First Step to Great Self-Esteem

“Value yourself.”

You have the right to be treated well, to value your own intelligence, to create a satisfying life for yourself and to value your own creativity. You are worthy of happiness, health, success and love. You deserve to have good friends, fulfilling personal relationships, and strong family bonds.

No matter how many difficulties you face in a day, remember to value yourself. You deserve to have a great relationship with you. Because, you are worth it!

Greatest Friendship of All

“Your intuition is your friend for life.”

Intuition is the bridge between the known and the unknown. Yet because we cannot see it or measure it on any instrument, we often disregard that inner voice. “Don’t drive down that road,” “Call Jen now,” “Take that finance course,” it whispers, but often we disregard it as an aberration of the mind.

But that soft, pervasive voice is your inner self speaking. Learning to listen for it and act on it is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself. That voice is the speed dial to your own truths. You instinctively know this, but your civilized, educated brain will often redirect the call and put it hold, sometimes to your detriment.

Make a decision today to listen for that inner knowledge and make a pact with yourself to act on it. Trusting your intuition is the hardest step, but once you make friends with your own inner knowing, your own truth, there is no greater friendship.

Harness the Power of Boldness

“Begin it now!”

Take a moment to think about something you’d like to achieve, change or improve in your life.

Without criticizing or blaming, ask yourself these questions:

Have my actions matched up to show that I am truly committed to achieving this goal? Am I really serious about achieving it? How much do I want this and why?

To make things happen you have to take action. The German writer Goethe said, “Whatever you can do or dream that you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, magic and power in it. Begin it now.”

Today, embrace boldness and take a step toward achieving a goal that is important to you. When you take action, the universe has a magical way of meeting you halfway.

What Matters Most in Life

“In the long run, it’s your personal relationships that really matter.”

With today’s busy lifestyles, it’s all too easy to put relationships on the backburner and take them for granted. Even though you may have every intention of spending regular time with your partner, hectic schedules get in the way and you end up running in every direction except toward each other.

Yet, you know that your personal relationships are paramount to personal fulfillment. Be sure to set some time aside each week to rediscover the people that mean most to you. Be alone with that person, talk, enjoy your time together and renew your relationship.

After all, in this life, your loved ones are what really matter.

Eliminate Regrets

“Anything that you should have done, but didn’t, ties you to your past.”

Is your mental and emotional clutter getting in the way of a fulfilling life? It’s time to clean out the “need-to’s,” “have-to’s,” and “ought-to’s,” from your past. When you have regrets it’s tough to move forward and grow.

Put the past in the past. Return anything you borrowed. Make apologies where needed. Get your bills up to date. Send the card or gift you forgot to send. Make the phone call you need to make.

Taking care of these things cleans your mental slate and eliminates any regrets or resentments you may harbor.

Now, take a deep breath; look ahead. Both your conscience, and your future vision, is clear.

Today’s Affirmation: I have put the past in the past, and I’m now looking ahead with optimism.
